If you are like me and seeing this on the 4.1, when you get to 4:50 marker for the shade normals step by right clicking and selecting shade smooth - you have to make sure you highlight all of the vertices to the left and then select Mesh > Normals > Merge.

Super tutorial, thanks! It's a very confusing configuration for a beginner to wrap their heads around, though. Keeping track of what is actually moving, and what is not. At 7:03 I notice I do not have the 'Grease Pencil' option in between the 'Show Overlays' and 'Toggle X-Ray'. Does it not show with this version I'm using which is Blender 3.6.1 and I have to use Blender 4.0 and above? This would be my first tutorial in trying to understand the Grease pencil & 2d Animations side of Blender.
